Not at all! Our classes are designed for adults 40-60 with all fitness levels. We break down movements step-by-step, and our instructors focus on having fun together rather than perfect technique. Many of our regular members had zero dance experience when they started.
Zumba uses Latin and world music with freestyle movement patterns—think dancing with friends. Line dancing follows structured choreography where everyone moves together in rows (think classic country and modern hits). Step aerobics uses a platform to create rhythm-based cardio workouts. All three give you a great cardio session, but the vibe is different for each.
Most of our sessions run weekly at consistent times—check our schedule page for specific days in your area. Yes, we offer drop-in options! You can attend whenever it fits your schedule. Some people come every week, others once or twice a month. Whatever works for you.
It's a real cardio workout. Zumba burns 400-600 calories per hour, line dancing strengthens your legs and improves coordination while getting your heart rate up, and step aerobics is straight-up cardio conditioning. You'll feel it the next day. The difference is it doesn't feel like "exercise" because you're having too much fun.
Comfortable clothes you can move in and supportive shoes (sneakers work great). Bring water—you'll want it. That's it. No special gear needed. Some people wear athletic wear, others just wear what they'd wear to run errands. We're not judgmental.
